Dr. Shalini Hitkari is a Naturopathic Physician who is enthusiastic about working with her patients to help them achieve optimal health so they can live happier, healthier lives.  As a naturopathic primary healthcare physician, Dr. Hitkari's approach is patient-centred, creating comprehensive, individualized treatment plans for patients.  She strongly believes in a multidisciplinary approach and is willing to work alongside other physicians and healthcare practitioners to help ensure her patients' well-being.

Dr. Hitkari completed her pre-medical studies at the University of Victoria, obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Biology.  Upon graduating, she completed her four-year medical program at the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine (BINM), Western Canada's only accredited naturopathic medical school.

Dr. Hitkari was one of the first Naturopathic Physicians in BC to attain her prescriptive privileges.  She is also board-certified in acupuncture and has advanced training in the use of Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) for the management of perimenopausal and menopausal symptoms.

Dr. Hitkari has a special clinical focus on hormones and hormone-related issues.  Many patients feel like their hormones are running the show. Dr. Hitkari believes your hormones should support you, not hold you back. Too often, she sees women and people who menstruate enduring PMS, painful periods, and heavy bleeding, assuming it’s just ‘normal.’ But Dr. Hitkari knows you deserve better—you have the right to feel and look your best every day of the month.

Dr. Hitkari also supports patients experiencing natural or medically-induced menopause by addressing symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness, brain fog, fatigue, weight gain and insomnia using both hormone therapy and non-hormonal options.

She is committed to patient-centered care, focusing on uncovering the root cause of health concerns. Whether it's PMS or menopause, she believes everyone deserves better care and clear answers. Patients trust her unique, evidence-based approach to restore hormonal balance, relieve PMS, and support a smooth transition through menopause. Hormones shouldn't be an obstacle—they should empower you to thrive.

Dr. Hitkari is in good standing with the British Columbia Naturopathic Association (BCNA), the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND) and the College of Naturopathic Physicians of British Columbia (CNPBC).
